Rethink Online Research is an online market research company that gives people opportunities to express their opinions and views on a wide range of issues, products and trends. We conduct surveys on behalf of our clients and our own publications.
Requests for home address, email address, phone number, or any other personal information are for payment verification purposes, or so that we may contact you about specific research opportunities you qualify for. We use your email address to send you invitations to participate in our projects. We use your home address to mail some payments and/or products or materials for your review, when necessary for participation in projects.
In conducting surveys themselves, we will request your opinions about products, services and topical issues and ideas, as relevant to the particular survey being conducted. Our surveys may request additional information about you, such as demographic (e.g., age, race, income) and behavioral (e.g., hobbies, likes, dislikes, leisure activities) information that we, or our clients, believe relevant to the particular survey results. This information is not tracked personally, but used for purposes of segmentation. Personal information that was provided on the entry questionnaire to join our panel may be associated with your survey responses.
We use the information on your entry questionnaire and other surveys to assess demographic trends and background information. It is also used to determine which opportunities you qualify for, and can be invited to participate in.
When you complete a survey, Rethink Online Research uses your responses and other participants' responses to inform clients about people's opinions about their products or services. The registration information you fill out provides an overall picture of the kinds of people who participate in the surveys: men vs. women, average level of education, geography, etc.
Your research responses may be used by Rethink Online Research and disclosed in aggregated research reporting to our clients. In addition, individual responses may be disclosed in reports to clients and in publicly available Rethink Online Research publications. Such disclosures may be identified by your first name, age and or geographic information (at a level not more specific than city/state of residence).
Rethink Online Research conducts research for a wide variety of clients and asks your opinions and views on a broad range of issues, products, and trends. Additional Provisions Applicable to the Collection of Information from Children - The provisions of this section are applicable only to information collected from children under the age of 13:
The privacy of children is of particular importance to us. We will not permit children under the age of 13 to register with us, or participate in our surveys, without prior parental consent.
When a child under the age of 13 seeks to register with Rethink Online Research, we will request the name of the child's parent or legal guardian, as well as email and postal addresses. Only the parent/guardian can register to join the Rethink Online Research panel on behalf of his/her household. Once the entry questionnaire is completed and received by us, we will send a letter to the parent/guardian, requesting consent for the child to participate in our projects. Registration will not be activated and we will not invite any child under 13 to participate in any survey until we have received back a signed, written consent. Your consent will permit the collection, use and disclosure of information provided by your child. If you prefer, you have the option of consenting to our collection and use of your children's personal information, without also consenting to our disclosure of such information to third parties. Understand, however, that if you give such limited consent, that: (1) Your child's information will still be reflected in aggregate, anonymous statistics reported to third parties; and (2) There may be projects in which children for whom limited consent has been given may not participate.
As the parent/guardian of your child under the age of 13, you are free at any time to request that your child not be invited to participate in Rethink Online Research projects. This can be done by emailing us the specific instruction.
